CMA Triple Play Awards Return to Nashville with Big Honors for Songwriters

The Country Music Association (CMA) will shine a spotlight on the industry’s unsung heroes—its songwriters—at the 2025 CMA Triple Play Awards in Nashville on April 29.

This year’s ceremony will honor 16 elite songwriters who each scored three No. 1 country hits within a single year. The star-studded honoree list includes Morgan Wallen, Jelly Roll, Ernest Keith Smith, Jessie Jo Dillon, and Ashley Gorley—who, along with Charlie Handsome, will receive the award twice this year for their prolific songwriting runs.

In a landmark celebration, the CMA will also recognize 73 songwriters achieving their first-ever No. 1 hit—a powerful nod to the rising creative forces shaping the genre.

Adding further prestige, legendary publisher David Conrad will receive the CMA Songwriter Advocate Award, honoring his 35-year career mentoring top talent and championing Nashville’s songwriting scene.

While the venue remains under wraps, the buzz around this exclusive Nashville event is already growing. Hosted by acclaimed songwriter Jim Beavers, the night promises heartfelt tributes, industry reunions, and a celebration of lyrics that move millions. Location to be announced at a later date.
