Amanda Crew, born on June 5, 1986, in Langley, British Columbia, Canada, is a distinguished actress recognized for her significant contributions to film and television. Her parents, a legal secretary and a telecommunications worker, supported her early interest in the performing arts. Amanda's passion for acting was ignited in elementary school when she was cast in the musical Dragon Tales. This pivotal experience led her to participate in various stage productions, including Stalling, Cordstons Courts, and Langley, the Musical. ​

She attended Brookswood Secondary School in Langley, where she continued to hone her acting skills. Her professional career commenced with a role in the television series 15/Love, followed by a notable performance as Carrie Miller in the CTV drama series Whistler. Amanda's breakthrough in film came with her portrayal of Julie Christensen in Final Destination 3 (2006). She further expanded her filmography with roles in Sex Drive (2008), The Haunting in Connecticut (2009), and Charlie St. Cloud (2010), where she starred alongside Zac Efron. ​

From 2014 to 2019, Amanda gained widespread acclaim for her role as Monica Hall on the HBO comedy series Silicon Valley. Her character, a venture capitalist, became a fan favorite and showcased her versatility as an actress. ​
