Starting October 2025, Lufthansa Group will roll out the online payment option Click to Pay across its airline platforms, including Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines, in partnership with Visa. This move is designed to make the booking process faster, easier, and more secure for travellers.

With Click to Pay, customers can finalize their flight bookings by simply entering their e-mail address—no need to manually enter card details. Once a debit or credit card is registered with a payment network like Visa or through a card-issuing bank, it can be used seamlessly. Whether booking as a guest or a returning customer, travellers are recognized by their email and can complete transactions swiftly, even if it’s their first time.

“This partnership with Visa is another step toward offering our customers greater convenience at every touchpoint,” said Dieter Vranckx, Lufthansa Group’s Chief Commercial Officer. “Click to Pay helps streamline the booking process and enhances the overall travel experience.”

Visa’s Albrecht Kiel added, “This innovation mirrors the ease of contactless payments—fast, secure, and hassle-free.”

Beyond convenience, Click to Pay significantly improves payment security. Instead of processing real card numbers, it uses encrypted digital tokens, making it far less susceptible to fraud. Studies show fraud can be reduced by up to 80% compared to traditional manual card entry.

Lufthansa Group becomes one of the first airline groups in Europe to adopt Click to Pay, reinforcing its position as a leader in digital travel solutions.
