Ooh La La Donuts: A Sweet Comeback in Kitsilano

Vancouver’s beloved Ooh La La Donuts is back—and sweeter than ever. Originally opened in March 2023 in West Point Grey, the shop became an instant hit with its playful donut creations like London Fog, Tutti Frutti, and S’mores. Housed in a charming blue building on West 10th Avenue that had once been the Point Grey Pharmac , it offered nostalgic treats with modern flair. But in June 2024, the shop closed abruptly due to unforeseen lease issues—leaving donut fans heartbroken.

Determined not to let their dream fade, the owners turned to the community. In June 2024, they launched a GoFundMe campaign, aiming to raise $25,000 for renovations and relocation. The response? Overwhelming. Locals rallied, and the campaign helped secure a new spot: the former Nini’s Greek Restaurant at 1818 West 4th Avenue in Kitsilano.

In mid-December 2024, Ooh La La reopened with a cozy, modern vibe and an expanded menu, including sandwiches, coffee, and other grab-and-go bites. The shop quickly regained its patronage thanks to the strong community support and the loyal customer base from its previous location. The reopening was highly anticipated, and the shop saw a steady flow of customers from the very beginning.

The 30-seat café now boasts free WiFi, making it a favourite among students and remote workers. Entrepreneurs often swing by for casual meetings or laptop work, especially during peak hours from 10 AM to 1 PM.

This comeback is more than a business success—it’s a testament to community, resilience, and the unifying power of a good donut.
