As the school year winds down, local high school students are being presented with an exciting summer employment opportunity that offers more than just a paycheck — it offers a chance to build skills, connect with community, and be part of something bigger.

The Delta Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Centre has opened applications for 3–5 summer student positions starting mid-June. This initiative not only supports youth employment, but also strengthens local tourism, events, and civic pride.

“Our summer students are true ambassadors for Delta,” says Amanda Keulen, Visitor Centre Manager. “They help visitors discover the best of our community — while learning the soft and professional skills that last a lifetime.”

A Unique Summer Experience

Participants in the program will work closely with Chamber staff at the Delta Visitors Centre. Their duties include:

  • Greeting tourists and locals at the Centre
  • Providing information about Delta’s attractions, businesses, and services
  • Supporting community events and outreach
  • Learning basic marketing, customer service, and administrative tasks

Students will also gain insight into how local businesses work together to promote Delta’s economic vitality — giving them a firsthand look at real-world networking and community-building.

How to Apply

Interested students should submit a short resume and letter of interest to Amanda Keulen at
📧 amanda.keulen@deltachamber.ca
Applications are open until May 15, 2025.

Whether students are looking to strengthen their resume, explore new career paths, or just meet new people, this summer program offers a meaningful, skill-building opportunity right in the heart of Delta.
